Day 2: Hello Idaho...

Giant silo!
Plumb Crazy!
Day two started amazingly well. We got on the road at about 11, got a wee bit lost because daniel (the gps) has no idea what it is talking about, but eventually we found the road we needed and headed off into the wild blue yonder. So we drove on some po-dunky two lane road through Oregon, where a semi passed us and almost killed the people in the other lane, it was very very scary... very. We saw a LOT of sagebrush, and some grass! Also some cows.... in the sagebrush and a tree here and there. Tabitha had to pee real bad for miles and miles and miles, but she is very picky so she held it. Then she tried to kill me when she was looking at a road to pee on, and instead just drove off the road... it's all good though because I survived. Okay so finally we found some rickety gas station, in a town no ones ever heard of and went to the potty, while tabby was ridding her self of her liquids, I scared some poor girl half to death, while waiting to potty, it was pretty hilarious. 2 miles down the road there was a lovely rest station... of course.

Tabby making some grub.

About an hour later we decided it was indeed time for some grub, so we found a weird little rest stop with some non-potable water and ate a lovely lunch of ham sandwiches, boiled eggs, cheese and chocolate milk... so tasty. Then we switched drivers and headed for Idaho. WOOT.

A tree on the hill...yup

So now I was driving and Tabitha was napping, and while she was napping all the fun things happened. Lets see there was a herd of motorcycles, some guy who was driving a convertible in nothing but some really short shorts, there was a field of old tractors just sitting there, we passed tattle tale rd, found onion county, where it smelled like onions (mmm) and found out that onions have their own website (bigonion.com). I think that was everything awesome that happened. There are no pictures of this awesomeness because the camera women was asleep.

Me driving and being creepy at the same time.

Then we finally made it to Ontario, ID (no we did not go to Canada). So we got on the freeway, and then promptly stopped at the first rest stop so I could pee, also I thought I had broke the cruise control. Turns out that I did not, I am just an idiot. So right, we got back on the road and then the real fun began. Right past the Payette/Fruitland exit the car began shifting like a mad woman and then smoke came barreling out the back out car. Needless to say we pulled over, very quickly and began calling everyone we knew to figure out what happened. When the car cooled down and we calmed down we got out to check everything out.

Okay so we thought her car had been leaking oil when we began our journey... so yea imagine the crazy thoughts of what had broke went through our head... yea. When we did check the oil, we still had some, yay, and so on we went to look for the problem. So we noticed there was a huge puddle under the car so we rolled it back and got out to diagnose the poor car. After some investigative work (looking at and smelling the fluid) I deduced that it was transmission fluid. Never in my life had I been so excited to see a puddle of transmission fluid, rather than a puddle of oil.

Together!!
Well then the waiting began. Luckily Tabitha has some awesome cousins in Boise (about an hour from the scene of the crime) who came to our rescue. As we waited we drank grape juice and ate cheese while singing and counting our many blessings.

Blessings:
1. Grape Juice
2. Cheese
3. We were stuck together
4. It was still daylight
I'm the map!
5. We were not in the middle of nowhere in Oregon, but somewhere in Idaho, and we had a map!
6. When we rolled down the windows air came in
7. When semi's passed by it felt like air-conditioning
8. We have amazing families
9. The car was not out of oil, and was not leaking oil
10. There was a beautiful sunset
11. We had rainbows in the car
12. Beautiful scenery
13. Tabitha yodels
14. Tabitha's siblings sing awesome songs
Beautiful view out the window.
15. there was a lot more.... because we are very blessed people....

Our rainbow maker,
And some feet.

So just as it was getting dark we were rescued and left our poor little Belle (the car) on the side of the road.
We did not reach Twin Falls. lame.
